Leading by example: Switzerland with climate-conscoius stand at InnoTrans 2024
In 2022, Switzerland was the first country ever to design the presentation of its national stand at InnoTrans in a completely climate-conscious way. From exhibitor travel to stand construction, logistics, advertising material, accommodation and on-site catering - the organizers made every decision in favour of their climate friendliness. Swissrail took responsibility for the remaining 431 tons of CO2 by investing in climate protection projects. These include, for example, projects dedicated to reforestation and wind power in Switzerland and India. India is an important export market with an increasing number of electrified railroads.
Andreas Haas, Managing Director of the Swissrail Industry Association, is proud and full of anticipation that Switzerland, together with its partner Swiss Climate, will once again be represented at this year's InnoTrans from September 24 to 27, 2024 with a climate-conscious stand in Hall 2.2 and Hall 26. A total of 47 Swiss exhibitors are taking part in this pioneering project, because "sustainability is a joint project for the community," Andreas Haas is convinced. Among other things, the program includes a joint arrival and departure of the exhibitors, after the evaluations of the last participation showed that this is where the greatest CO2 savings potential lies. For example, on the Monday before InnoTrans over 60 people will travel to InnoTrans together by train.
