New at InnoTrans 2024: Chinese bus manufacturer debuts with three vehicles
InnoTrans is the world’s leading trade show for transport technology in Berlin, and from 24 to 27 September this year’s trade show is again presenting the latest public transport innovations. The Bus Display is a special exhibition area where demonstrations will take place, test drives can be taken and where vehicle manufacturers can meet suppliers and bus companies.
Leading bus manufacturers are displaying their latest designs, and with the Public Transport & Interiors segments covering a display area of around 40,000 m² the focus of InnoTrans on public transport is unmatched at any other event. InnoTrans 2024 is displaying a wide range of innovations, from new drive systems and engines, interiors, air-conditioning and cleaning to timetable management for bus fleets.
Live bus demonstrations and presentations on the static display
One of this year’s Bus Display highlights is BYD, which is debuting at InnoTrans with three buses. Ikarus from Hungary is also exhibiting at InnoTrans for the first time. The company is presenting two buses: the latest V4 version of its 12 m city bus, the Ikarus 120e, and the Ikarus midi bus, an 8 m electric bus. Ikarus is a partner of Siemens, and is displaying that company’s latest innovative e-Line current collectors on its stand. “We are pleased that Ikarus is making its first appearance at InnoTrans. The event is a great opportunity for us to present our technical progress and discuss potential partnerships for driving the future of sustainable transport and develop new business leads. We look forward to face-to-face meetings“, said Roland Fehér, CEO of Ikarus.
As well as BYD and Ikarus, other leading manufacturers are also taking part. Arthur Bus, Ebusco, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Neso Bus and K-Bus are among the companies presenting their latest public transport vehicles. Bus presentations will take place on the exhibition grounds’ 500 m long Demonstration Course, with trade visitors able to take test drives.
The outdoor exhibition augments the hall displays, which is where Daimler Buses is among those represented in Hall 4.2. The ShowBus of DB Regio AG is also on the grounds. The 12 m electric bus features a lounge area, workspaces, a high level of comfort, and emphasises barrier-free access.
Innovative charging technology and vehicle interiors
The focus is on electric and hydrogen power, as they are currently the manufacturers’ zero-emissions drive systems of choice and in customer demand. Accordingly, companies including Mont-Ele and SBRS are displaying charging solutions for public transport on the grounds to ensure more efficient and sustainable energy for electric buses. On the Bus Display, Ventura Systems is exhibiting ultra-modern entry systems for public transport.
A wide range of transport companies
This is where the bus industry and transport companies are able to meet: in addition to China Railway, Etihad Rail, Infrabel, Korail, ÖBB, PKP, Deutsche Bahn, RTA Dubai and Saudi Railway, ten other regional, national and international transport companies and operators are represented on their own stands.
