InnoTrans introduces a new trade fair segment: the AI Mobility Lab

• Solutions for increasingly networked transport systems
• Focus on AI, robotics and cybersecurity

InnoTrans, the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology, is expanding its portfolio, and with the AI Mobility Lab is presenting a new specialised exhibition area. The topics at the AI Mobility Lab are AI, robotics, data protection and cybersecurity. This extension of the Public Transport segment will be introduced at InnoTrans 2024 in Hall 7.1a on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

Since 1996, InnoTrans has been the international marketplace for innovations and new developments in the mobility sector. International transport companies and transport networks from around the world meet every two years at this event. “Incorporating the new AI Mobility Lab in the Public Transport segment offers exhibitors and visitors an overview of individual theme areas, enabling them to focus on the current challenges and opportunities of AI, cybersecurity, data protection and robotics in the rail industry“, said Kerstin Schulz, director of InnoTrans.

In an age in which digitalisation is moving forward apace, public transport systems are becoming more and more networked and automated. AI applications and solutions are increasingly being tested in this field. Combining transport technology and AI will in future help to make transport more and more efficient, sustainable and customer-friendly. With the help of AI, railway companies can develop intelligent systems for optimising operations, predicting maintenance, improving safety and offering personalised passenger services. Security and data protection also pose growing challenges for transport companies.

Lectures and discussion rounds will accompany the displays at the AI Mobility Lab, with experts sharing their findings and offering insights into current and future challenges regarding cybersecurity, for example.
